Audio Describing is a service for the blind and people with vision loss in which the visual elements of a show are described for them.
Audio Description is becoming increasingly important in the theatre industry as more and more companies strive for accessibility and equity.
I charge $150 per performance.
In order to audio describe a performance, I need to attend a preview performance or rehearsal. During the audio described performance, I will need a quiet space where I can see the show and where my voice will not interfere with other patrons' enjoyment of the production. If you have sound equipment for me to use, great! If not, we can ask patrons to use their phones and we can set up a Zoom meeting for them to join. I also like to have a copy of the script beforehand, if possible.
