Rebecca Salomonsson is a playwright, fiction writer, poet, writing coach, instructor, theatre director, and audio describer living outside of Denver, CO. She has a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Massachusetts/ Boston and a certificate in performance from the National Shakespeare Conservatory. She is currently working toward her MA in Genre Fiction from Western Colorado University.
Rebecca's published plays, Outrageous Fortune and its Zoom-friendly off-shoot, Tragedians Anonymous (Pioneer Drama) and Where the Wild Thyme Blows (Next Stage Press) have been produced in several states, including Colorado, Nevada, Kansas, California, Oregon, West Virginia, and Indiana, and Outrageous Fortune - the play Rebecca wistfully refers to as her love letter to Shakespeare - has made it to Canada once or twice.
While historical fiction and Shakespeare are her most prominent passions, Rebecca is currently working on a variety of genres and mediums, including a contemporary play and a suspense novel.
When not writing, Rebecca is available for audio describing live theatre and video productions for the blind and people with vision loss. She currently audio describes for several entities around town, including the Newman Center, the Denver Center, the Arvada Center, and Phamaly Theatre Company.
When not working, Rebecca can be found spending time with her husband and offspring and their mini-Schnauzers, Phoebe and Oliver.
